play dough madness!!

My mom's a pre school teacher so she always makes me do alot of arts and crafts! Today she made me make play dough! Well, buying those play dohs at toy stores are definately cheaper and no mess. My mom's school wants everything organic for the kids. It made a mess in the kitchen but it was an experience and andrew had fun mixing the colors.

After mixing the flour,water,oil and lots of salt you actually have to cook it. I added red food coloring that looked pinkish.
I enlisted the help of PJ coz it was difficult to mix especially with my injured fingers.

I gave Andrew a small piece and he added blue food coloring to it.

just one of those days

i'm having a bad day..:( sheesh...today i found out there's a rat or mouse in the house..i noticed my books being chewed off!! Today i decided to turn our room inside out...and found droppings but no rat or mouse!! i don't wanna kill it..i just want it out..Andrew decided to join the hunt, he carried his little flash light and started shouting mouse.

After all that cleaning, i went to the kitchen to cook...while opening a can of corned beef it slipped off my hand...blood splattered everywhere. It's not deep just a cut..but it was bleeding badly and then with all the blood i realised two of my fingers were cut and pretty long. Luckily they weren't deep.

Also today, my laptop decided to stop charging...it'll only work if its plugged in....errrr

i hope tomorrow will be a better day!!

MP3/MP4

i was reading juliet's blog and coincidentally i was juz looking at pics of the Creative Zen Stone Plus. I think its absolutely cute and was thinking of getting one for pj..maybe for x'mas??i like the red one. I was reading reviews on it on CNET, its pretty good except the screens too small. They've also got the built in speaker...very nice. I think it looked cool especially with the arm band for when he goes to the gym. He has a mp3..but i hate it coz it looks bulky and you can't juz drag and drop..it needs a software to upload music...

PJ got me the Creative Vision M for my birthday and i love it...he loves it too, he has been using it for a few days now since i have the voice book for harry potter in it. Everybody ask me why i didn't get an Ipod instead..well if the ipod had a radio on it..i would probably gotten that, but it didn't...i love love love my creative vision..its got all my phone numbers in it. My sis in law has an ipod and we were comparing the LCD on it....mines much better!..the only downside..not as much accessories as the ipod..:( If they do have, its usually too expensive or sold out.

On a very sad note Pj's 15 yr old cousin passed away from a car accident going home from a sports retreat. I've never met her but have seen pictures of her and i've heard so much good things about her. :( My deepest sympathy goes out to her family.We will keep their family in our prayers

The Nanny Diaries

The movie is out next week, but the book's been out for awhile. Its a pretty hilarious book and its like reading something i've wrote!!

I was a nanny and things on the book seems so real..i did go through letters always starting with 'dear nanny or dear ms. sherina' hahaha. I get list of things to do and playdates with weird kids. I remember that there was this kid who can't even smell peanut butter or he'll break out in hives.. i get a heads up whenever he's coming i then scout for food with peanuts in it.

I think the weirdest of it all was the family my cousin worked for. My cousin was away so i helped them out in the mornings,..the mom is a stay at home mom..with 2 kids. Dad's an architect hence for the very modern house. So modern that the parents room is in the basement..away from the kids?!?..you walk around the house and there are notes stating what allergies the kids have... ALL CAPS..KIDS ALLERGIC TO PENICILLIN.

I came in one morning and she was screaming and i looked at the youngest who was breaking out in hives...and guess what she gave the baby?? tylenol with penicillin...Did it ever occur to her to read the ingredients? The baby was teething and very cranky so mom gave her tylenol. In her many notes around the house are what kind of medication is allowed for the children and none of it had TYLENOL written on it.

Me and my cousin work in the rich part of town and yes there are perks..a new burberry jacket that well..just doesn't match her shoes which is now mine. Since i used to work for 3 families who are all friends, they still like to outbid each other with who gives me the best gifts.

December is usually the busiest..with parties,christmas cards..One letter reads 'dear ms. sherina, please put the the cards in envelope in time for the postman'..ok seems no problem and then you realize there are 2 boxes of christmas cards with no stamps..and you still have to pick up the kids from school. It gets bad when it starts snowing and you tell them i might have difficulty getting there...and they send the driver who gets stuck in the snow...still they won't rest then they send a taxi which cost them 3 times more the usual fair just to get me there so they can leave for their party which is only 5 blocks away but they still get a limo. I worked for 3 families so during that time, i get 7 kids screaming and jumping vying for my attention. hahah those were the days...i don't do it anymore. I don't think i have the patience anymore.

I can't really blame them for what they are and how they raise their children because they were raised that way. With a nanny to help them raise their kids.

I did go through alot and at times you feel like your a piece of shit..

but what kept me going was i paid for my college tuition. No one helped...no loans..just my ass kissing...and playing mom and dad.

Michael Buble ROCKS!!!

absolutely loved his concert!! He was hilarious and so was the audience. How many concerts can the young and old come together?...it was fun.. i just love his music. I grew up listening to frank sinatra, paul anka...tony bennett..i still remember how annoyed i get when my aunt would play her small tape recorder of her old songs but i would silently hum to them and memorise the lyrics.

I enjoyed his concert...it was definately a blast, i couldn't stop smiling when he suddenly sang YMCA. Everyone was up on their feet dancing!!.A lucky lady got to grab BUBLE'S ASS!! hahaha that was funny.

Jann Arden was his opening act...she sang INSENSITIVE..its a beautiful song,i remembered MARIE loves that song...it was nice.

i took some pics but they look awful, i was too busy singing then paying attention to what i was taking...i'll try to upload pics from my sis in laws camera...

Andrew's new favourite line..'NO WAY DUDE'!! hahaha he got it from teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Goodbye Potter....

back from my hiatus..it took me longer then i expected to finish the final installment of the harry potter series.

It was a very emotionaly journey....there were chapters that literally brought tears to my eyes. Even at the end i just couldn't imagine that its all ever...:( I wonder if i'll ever find another book as entertaining and intriguing. I believe that Harry Potter is my cinderella story. I want Andrew to grow up hearing about it...and when he is old enough i will read with him...a story that has truly captivated me.

So....yes besides drowning my sorrows..hahaha i've trying ti learn about stocks..all that BUY, SELL...its more confusing then i actually thought it would be.
